Terms of use — Sellers

The MATOS MARKET consignment rules: posting, inspection, publication, sale, deadlines and payment.

Last updated: October 2026.

MATOS MARKET is a consignment sales service operated by MATOS (matos-algeria.com). The seller entrusts MATOS with selling their item; MATOS inspects it, lists it, collects payment, ships it and pays the seller the price minus the commission. To the buyer, the seller is MATOS.

1. Seller account and identity

  • Sellers must be adults, live in Algeria and create an account with accurate information.
  • When identity verification is enabled, a valid ID (national ID card, passport or biometric driving licence) is required before the first listing is submitted. Documents are kept confidential and never shown to buyers.
  • Only the username, wilaya, seller status (individual / professional) and the storefront elements chosen by the seller are public.

2. Accepted items

  • Computer, gaming and console equipment: PCs, components, monitors, peripherals, audio, consoles, games and accessories.
  • The seller guarantees they are the rightful owner of the item and that it is neither stolen nor counterfeit. MATOS may ask for the purchase invoice.
  • MATOS reserves the right to refuse any item, including counterfeits, locked devices (account, iCloud…), hardware used for intensive mining, and dangerous or non-compliant items.

3. Posting and review

  • The listing must describe the item, its condition and any defects honestly, with real photos.
  • Phone numbers, email addresses, links and social networks are not allowed. Any attempt to sell outside MATOS leads to permanent suspension.
  • The MATOS team reviews the listing within 24 to 48 business hours: it pre-approves it, asks for changes or declines it.

4. Mandatory physical inspection

  • Once pre-approved, the seller drops the item off at the MATOS reception address or ships it at their own cost, with the slip printed from their space.
  • Every item is inspected by a MATOS technician. The serial number is recorded and a MATOS seal may be applied to recognise the item when it sells.
  • If the item does not match the listing, MATOS may propose a new price or decline the item, which is then returned to the seller.

5. Price

  • The seller suggests a price. MATOS reviews it against the market and the actual condition and may propose an adjustment, which the seller is free to accept or decline from their space.
  • The price shown to the buyer is the approved price. The commission and, where applicable, the certification fee are deducted from it.

6. Commission and certification

  • The MATOS commission follows the current grid (by category, condition and price range), shown in the seller space and in the simulator when posting. The amount is fixed at the time of sale.
  • MATOS certification is a paid option. Its fee is due once the certification is carried out, even if the item does not sell; it is deducted from the sale or paid at drop-off as indicated.
  • Posting a listing is free.

7. Keeping the item

  • After approval, the seller chooses to leave the item in storage at MATOS or take it back.
  • If they take it back, they undertake to keep it in the observed condition, not to sell it elsewhere without first withdrawing the listing, and to keep it available while it is online.

8. When the item sells

  • The seller is notified (seller space and email) as soon as the order is confirmed.
  • They have 48 hours to hand the item over to MATOS (drop-off or tracked shipping). After that, the sale may be cancelled.
  • The item handed over must be the one inspected (serial number / seal). Any substitution leads to cancellation of the sale and suspension of the account.
  • The seller never has access to the buyer’s details.

9. Seller payment

  • Earnings become available 7 days after delivery to the buyer (withdrawal and claim period).
  • The seller requests a transfer from their space (CCP, BaridiMob, bank transfer or cash at the MATOS reception desk) above the stated minimum amount.
  • If the buyer makes a justified return (item not as described), the sale is cancelled and the item returned to the seller; no earnings are due.

10. Withdrawal, suspension

  • The seller may withdraw a listing as long as no sale is in progress. An item in storage is then returned.
  • MATOS may suspend an account for breaches: false information, repeated late hand-overs, attempts to bypass the platform, repeatedly non-compliant items.

11. Liability

MATOS is responsible for the item from receipt until it is returned or delivered. Shipments from the seller to MATOS travel at the seller’s risk; tracked shipping is strongly recommended.
