Inspection, for every item
No item is published without going through the hands of a MATOS technician. The standard inspection includes:
- checking the item’s identity (brand, model, serial number);
- a visual check of its condition, compared with the seller’s description;
- a basic operation test (power-on, display, ports);
- checking the listed accessories.
Certification, as an option
The seller can ask for their item to be certified. It includes in-depth tests adapted to each category, for example:
- Monitors: dead pixels, uniformity, refresh rate, overdrive, ports;
- Graphics cards: stress test, temperatures, artefacts, cooling;
- PCs & laptops: full diagnostics, drive health, battery, temperatures under load;
- Consoles: disc reading, controllers, cooling, account status;
- Storage: S.M.A.R.T. health, speeds, secure wipe.
The item receives a grade:
- A+ — flawless, like new;
- A — excellent condition, invisible signs of use;
- B — good condition, light marks, works perfectly;
- C — visible wear, works perfectly.
The test report is published on the listing, with the “MATOS certified” badge and a 30-day MATOS warranty for the buyer.
The MATOS seal
During inspection, MATOS records the serial number and may apply a numbered seal. When the item sells, the item handed over by the seller is compared with this information before shipping: the buyer receives exactly the item that was inspected.
